Wild Plants & Wildflowers

Wild plants and wildflowers grown in our woodland, meadows and grassland on the North Downs in Surrey.

Our range includes wildflower lawn plug plants, woodland and ground-cover plants, wild strawberries, Self-heal, Bugle, Ground Ivy, Speedwell, ferns and other seasonal species. Availability changes throughout the year according to the natural growing season.

Many of our plants are particularly suited to natural lawns, wildlife gardens, woodland edges, banks, verges and informal planting schemes. They are grown in natural garden and meadow soils rather than intensive commercial compost and are accustomed to the chalk, clay and stony ground found across our land.

Our wildflower lawn plugs are ideal for introducing greater plant diversity into an existing lawn or grassed area. Depending on the species, plants may spread naturally by runners, roots or seed once established.

Plants are lifted and packed shortly before dispatch. Some leaves, flowers or stems may wilt or become damaged during transportation, but established roots will normally produce fresh growth after planting. Seasonal plants may also look very different depending on the time of year, particularly when dormant or emerging in spring.

For best results, remove plants from their packaging promptly, soak the roots if necessary and plant into suitable garden soil. Avoid rich, loose commercial compost for species that naturally prefer poorer meadow or woodland soils, and follow the individual planting instructions supplied with your order.

Our plants are grown and collected in small quantities as part of the ongoing management of our Surrey woodland and meadows. No pesticides or insecticides are used on our land.
