Bare Rooted Native Woodland Ferns Plants Perennial Shade Hardy
These woodland ferns will be dug up to order from our Woodlands in Surrey. Our woodlands are completely organic and we do not use pesticides or insecticides. The Ferns are collected as part of our woodland management plan so no damage to the woodlands is caused.
Ferns are lush, ancient and primitive, ferns are magnificent non-flowering plants that reproduce via spores. All our species are shade tolerant and can grow year round, bringing some welcome green to cooler months.
The plant is sent out as bare rooted plants. The plants are 20cm to 30cm in size. They will eventually grow into plants forming clumps of 50 to 70cm in height.
Care: Plant the ferns in humus rich soil in shady and moist locations. Water well for a few months following planting. Our ferns will also grow in terrariums.
Plants purchased in winter will still have some of the leaves from the previous summer so may look slightly damaged but the new fronds will be present at the base and ready to unfold.
About Us: Hanging Wood is located on the North Downs in Surrey. All our products are hand made from sustainably sourced materials grown in our own woodlands.
