A set of three substantial natural branches selected for use as large bird perches and reptile or snake climbing branches, cut from our sustainably managed woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.

At approximately 4–5cm diameter, these are our EXTRA THICK branches and are particularly suited to larger birds or enclosure setups requiring substantial natural climbing and perching structures.

🌳 Mixed Bird-Suitable Woods

Your set will contain a mixture of:

• Hazel
• Beech
• Sycamore

We deliberately select branches with natural variation rather than perfectly straight, uniform poles. Expect bends, knots, changes in diameter and plenty of natural bark texture.

For Parrots & Larger Birds

Natural branches provide birds with a more varied perching surface than a smooth, uniformly sized manufactured dowel.

The bark, bends, knots and changes in diameter provide different surfaces and positions for birds to grip, climb and explore.

These extra-thick branches may be suitable for parrots and other larger birds, depending on the size and requirements of the individual bird. Always select a perch diameter appropriate for your particular bird.

🦎 For Reptiles & Snakes

The substantial 4–5cm diameter also makes these branches useful for creating natural climbing structures within suitable reptile and snake enclosures.

They can be incorporated into vivariums and other setups to create:

• Climbing branches
• Elevated resting areas
• Natural enclosure structures
• Woodland-style habitats
• Bioactive enclosure displays

Always ensure branches are securely installed and suitable for the particular species and enclosure.

🌿 Untreated Natural Branches

Our branches are supplied in their natural state. They have not been washed, sterilised, varnished or chemically treated.

Natural moss or lichen may therefore be present, along with other normal woodland material. If you prefer a cleaner branch, the surface can be gently cleaned before use.

The branches may be fresh or partially seasoned and will continue to dry naturally. Good ventilation is recommended.

Please Note

You will receive three branches similar to those shown in the photographs, but every branch is unique. Shape, straightness, bark, knots, colour and exact diameter will naturally vary.

Cage fixing brackets, clips and other mounting hardware are NOT included. Please ensure each branch is securely installed before allowing an animal to use it.

🌳 From Our Surrey Woodland

Our branches are harvested in small quantities through coppicing, pruning and thinning as part of the ongoing management of our family woodland.

No pesticides or insecticides are used on our land.

Hanging Wood has been managed by our family since 1976 on the North Downs in Surrey.
