🍯 Whole Frame of Raw English Wildflower Honeycomb

This is honey about as close to the hive as you can get it.

You will receive a complete wooden beehive frame filled with real honeycomb and raw English wildflower honey, removed from one of our hives on the North Downs in Surrey and left completely unprocessed.

The honey remains sealed within the natural wax comb built by the bees, and the original wooden hive frame is included – just as it existed inside the beehive.

Each full frame is a substantial piece measuring approximately 45cm x 15cm and typically weighing around 1.5–2kg including the frame.

Because this is a genuine frame taken from a working hive, every honeycomb is naturally different.

🌼 English Woodland & Wildflower Honey

Our bees forage across our woodland, meadows and surrounding countryside on the North Downs.

Depending on the season, available forage can include plants and trees such as:

• Hawthorn
• Clover
• Blackberry and bramble
• Hazel
• Woodland and meadow wildflowers
• Fruit blossom
• Other seasonal flowering plants

The precise character, colour and flavour of the honey therefore varies naturally between frames and from season to season.

🐝 Built by the Bees

This isn't honey that has been extracted, filtered and poured into a jar.

The honey remains inside the original wax comb, allowing you to enjoy it directly from the frame.

Sections of comb can be cut from the frame as required, or the wax cappings can be opened to allow the honey to flow.

The beeswax honeycomb is edible and can be eaten together with the honey.

🌿 Raw, Unfiltered & Unpasteurised

We don't pasteurise or filter the honey in these frames.

It is supplied in its natural comb with minimal intervention between the hive and you.

Natural honey can gradually crystallise over time. This is a normal characteristic of honey and does not mean that it has spoiled.

For the best quality, we recommend enjoying the frame within approximately 12 months, although properly stored honey can remain usable for considerably longer.

🐝 Our Approach to Beekeeping

We've kept bees at Hanging Wood for more than 40 years and take a low-intervention approach to managing our colonies.

We:

• Harvest only surplus honey and aim to leave colonies with sufficient stores
• Avoid routine supplementary feeding where colonies have adequate natural stores
• May use honey from stronger colonies to support another colony where appropriate
• Do not breed colonies specifically for maximum honey production
• Never clip our queens' wings
• Maintain woodland, wildflower areas, fruit trees, flowering shrubs and bramble as forage for bees and other insects

Many of our colonies have also originated from local swarms collected and rehomed in the surrounding area.

Our priority is maintaining healthy, sustainable colonies rather than maximising the amount of honey taken from each hive.

📦 Presentation & Storage

The complete frame is vacuum packed to help retain freshness and supplied in a presentation box.

Store at normal room temperature in a dry place away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.

Once opened, sections of honeycomb can be removed as required.

⚠️ Important Information

Raw honey is a natural product and variations in colour, flavour, crystallisation and comb appearance are completely normal.

The amount of capped and open comb may also vary naturally between frames.

Honey should not be given to children under 12 months of age.

🌳 From Our Surrey Woodland Apiary

Our hives are located amongst our family-managed woodland on the North Downs in Surrey, surrounded by woodland, meadow and seasonal flowering plants.

The result is a genuinely local product whose character reflects the forage available to our bees throughout the year.
