Pure raw honey produced by our own bees at Hanging Wood on the North Downs in Surrey.

Our honey is extracted by hand in small batches and is unfiltered and unpasteurised, retaining the natural character, aroma and flavour of the honey produced by each colony.

🐝 How We Keep Our Bees

The welfare of our colonies comes before honey production. We only harvest surplus honey and make sure our bees have adequate stores for themselves.

Like many responsible beekeepers, we may provide supplementary sugar feed when a colony needs additional food, particularly when preparing for winter. Honey supers for harvesting are not placed on colonies until the bees have sufficient resources of their own.

Many of our colonies originated from local swarms that we have collected and rehomed. We do not selectively breed our bees for maximum honey production and we never clip our queens' wings.

Around the apiary we maintain wildflower meadows and grow fruit trees, flowering shrubs, brambles and other forage plants, providing food and habitat for our honey bees as well as wild bees and other pollinating insects.

🌿 Natural Honey

Raw honey naturally varies in colour, flavour and consistency according to the flowers available to the bees and the time of year. Crystallisation is also a completely natural characteristic of pure honey.

To soften crystallised honey, stand the closed jar in warm water and allow it to warm gradually.

Our woodland plants are gathered in small quantities from our family-managed land on the North Downs in Surrey, while our honey and beeswax come from our own Surrey apiary. 🌿🐝
