Milled Wood

Our milled wood comes directly from our own woodland here at Hanging Wood on the North Downs in Surrey. We primarily mill Western Red Cedar, selected carefully as part of ongoing woodland management to improve tree health and structure. Trees are only felled when overcrowded, and new planting is always part of the cycle.

All timber is milled on site and air dried and seasoned, preserving the natural character, aroma, and durability that Western Red Cedar is known for. Each piece retains its individual grain, colour, and edge — no two boards are ever the same.

Our milled cedar is ideal for shelves, furniture, signs, interior features, and rustic woodworking projects where natural materials and provenance matter. Whether live-edge or straight-cut, every board reflects the woodland it came from.

This is small-scale, honest timber — grown, milled, and prepared with care.
