🌿 5 x Live Moss-Covered Woodland Wood & Bark Pieces

A collection of five small pieces of naturally moss-covered wood, bark and twigs with living green moss already growing on them, hand gathered to order from our woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.

Rather than attaching moss to decorative wood, these pieces are selected where the moss has naturally established and grown on the wood in its woodland habitat. Each one has its own shape, bark texture and pattern of living moss.

Their compact size makes them particularly suitable for small terrariums, mossariums and natural miniature landscapes.

Living Woodland Moss

The moss is supplied alive and growing, rather than dried or preserved.

The pieces can be positioned directly into a suitable damp environment, allowing you to create the appearance of an established miniature woodland with naturally mossy logs and branches.

💧 Care

Please remove the mossy wood from its packaging as soon as it arrives so that the living moss can breathe.

Spray thoroughly with water after unpacking. We strongly recommend rainwater where possible, as we find our woodland moss generally performs much better with rainwater than with tap water.

Keep the moss damp and provide:

• A cool environment
• Good humidity
• Natural or suitable growing light
• Shade or indirect light
• Protection from hot, strong direct sunlight

The moss should remain moist but also needs air circulation. Avoid leaving it sealed for long periods in airtight packaging.

🌳 Completely Natural Woodland Material

These pieces are collected with the moss growing naturally on them and are not washed, sterilised or chemically treated.

Sterilising the wood would also destroy the living moss and much of the natural microhabitat that makes these pieces special.

Because this is genuine living woodland material, it may contain other tiny plants, lichens, fungi, seeds or small invertebrates.

Please bear this in mind if introducing the pieces into a controlled terrarium or vivarium environment, particularly one containing animals.

Please Note

The photographs are examples. Every piece of naturally moss-covered wood is different, so the amount and type of moss, wood species, bark, shape and colour will vary.

Moss can also change in appearance during transportation. It may initially look compressed or less vibrant after being enclosed for delivery but should freshen after unpacking, misting and returning it to suitable growing conditions.

🌿 From Our Surrey Woodland

Our mossy wood is gathered by hand in small quantities from suitable areas of our woodland, with care taken not to strip or clear areas of their moss habitat.

No pesticides or insecticides are used on our land.
