🌿 40cm Natural Crooked Branch Herb & Flower Drying Rack

A small rustic hanging rack made from a naturally crooked Birch, Beech or Oak branch, gathered from our woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.

Each branch is selected for its character rather than perfect straightness, retaining the natural bark, bends, knots and markings that make woodland-grown timber so attractive.

Supplied with 3 metres of natural jute twine, it's ideal for creating a simple hanging rack for herbs, dried flowers and other small botanical displays.

The compact 40cm size makes this particularly useful in kitchens, utility rooms and smaller spaces.

Tie small bunches of herbs or flowers with string and suspend them from the branch to create a beautiful natural drying display.

🪵 Birch, Beech or Oak

Your hanger will be made from Birch, Beech or Oak, depending on the naturally suitable branches available when your order is prepared.

We deliberately choose more crooked and characterful pieces for these racks.

Bark can range from mid-brown and silvery-grey through to deeper rich brown tones, with natural knots, curves and individual markings.

If you're looking for something very straight and uniform, our Hazel hanging branches are generally a better choice.

Naturally Rustic

This isn't a manufactured wooden dowel disguised as a natural product.

Every branch grew in our woodland and has its own shape. We retain the features that make it individual, including bends, knots, bark texture and small changes in diameter.

As a result, no two herb racks are exactly alike.

🌿 Natural & Untreated

The branch is supplied in its natural state and has not been varnished or chemically treated.

Wood may be fresh or partially seasoned and will continue to dry naturally indoors. Slight movement, shrinkage or fine surface checking can occur as genuine wood seasons.

You will receive a branch similar in character to those shown in the photographs, but colour, shape, bends, knots and bark will naturally vary.

Herbs, flowers, photographs and other decorations shown in the photographs are not included.

Our branches are harvested in small quantities through pruning, thinning and ongoing management of our family woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.

No pesticides or insecticides are used on our land.

Hanging Wood has been managed by our family since 1976.
