🌿 180cm / 6ft Natural Hazel Branch Pole – 2 Piece Screw-Together Design

A long natural Hazel pole made from two carefully matched 90cm branches that screw together to create an overall length of approximately 180cm / 6ft.

Our Hazel is cut from our sustainably managed woodland on the North Downs in Surrey. We select two relatively straight branches with similar diameters and bark so that they match as closely as possible when joined.

This creates a wonderfully natural alternative to a manufactured wooden pole and is ideal for rustic curtain poles, macramé, weaving, wall hangings, tapestries and decorative hanging rails.

A Natural 6ft Curtain Pole

Hazel is particularly attractive when used as a natural curtain pole because of its relatively straight growth and beautifully varied bark.

The bark typically has warm light-brown tones with distinctive silvery markings. Unlike a manufactured curtain pole or wooden dowel, every branch retains its natural knots, slight bends, changes in diameter and individual bark character.

Please ensure that your wall brackets and fixings are appropriate for the combined weight of the branch, curtains and anything else being hung. Wall brackets, curtain fittings and curtains are not included.

🔩 Two 90cm Sections with Screw Join

Due to shipping-length restrictions, we do not send this product as one continuous 180cm branch.

Instead, the pole is made from two 90cm sections, carefully selected to match and fitted with a screw connection to create the full 180cm / 6ft length.

A small bottle of wood glue is included and can be used to strengthen the centre join where permanent assembly is required.

🌳 Natural Hazel Wood

The branches retain their natural bark and have not been varnished or chemically treated.

The wood may be fresh or partially seasoned and will continue to dry naturally. Store or use it in a dry, well-ventilated environment. Slight movement, shrinkage or checking can occur as natural wood seasons.

Please Note

You will receive two Hazel branches similar to those shown in the photographs. These are genuine tree branches rather than machined wooden dowels, so exact colour, diameter, straightness, knots and bark markings will naturally vary.

Decorations, curtains, brackets and other display items shown in the photographs are not included.

🌿 From Our Surrey Woodland

Our Hazel is harvested in small quantities through coppicing, pruning and thinning as part of the ongoing management of our family woodland.

No pesticides or insecticides are used on our land.

Hanging Wood has been managed by our family since 1976 on the North Downs in Surrey.
