150cm 5ft Natural Hazel Branch Pole – 2 Piece Rustic Curtain Pole, Macramé, Weaving & Hanging Rail

These natural Hazel tree branch were collected from our Woodlands in Surrey. Each branch is 75cm and screws together to give a total length of 150cm. The branches have approx diameters of 2 - 3cm and are selected to match very well on the join. They are suitable for hanging objects up 2kg.

Note we do not supply single branches at 150cm due to restrictions on shipping lengths and hence offer the two branch option as a solution for customers requiring longer lengths.

The branches are supplied with 3m of natural jute twine.

Full instructions are provided along with a small bottle of wood glue to

strengthen the join.

🌿 150cm / 5ft Natural Hazel Branch Pole – 2 Piece Screw-Together Design

A long natural Hazel pole made from two carefully matched 75cm branches that screw together to create an overall length of approximately 150cm / 5ft.

Our Hazel is cut from our sustainably managed woodland on the North Downs in Surrey. We select two relatively straight branches with similar diameters and bark so that they match as closely as possible when joined.

This makes a wonderfully natural alternative to a manufactured wooden pole and is ideal for rustic curtain poles, macramé, weaving, wall hangings, tapestries and decorative hanging rails.

A Natural Rustic Curtain Pole

Hazel makes a particularly attractive natural curtain pole because of its relatively straight growth and beautiful bark.

The bark typically has warm light-brown tones with silvery markings and considerable natural variation. Unlike a manufactured curtain pole or wooden dowel, the branch retains its natural knots, slight bends, changes in diameter and bark texture.

Please ensure that wall brackets and fixings are suitable for the combined weight of the branch, curtains and other items being hung. Wall brackets and curtain fittings are not included.

🔩 Two-Piece Screw Join

Due to shipping restrictions, we do not send a single 150cm branch. Instead, we have developed this two-piece version for customers who need a longer natural pole.

The two 75cm branches are selected to match closely and are fitted with a screw connection to create the full 150cm length.

A small bottle of wood glue is supplied and can be used to strengthen the centre join where a permanent assembly is required.

🌳 Natural Hazel Wood

The branches are supplied with their natural bark and have not been varnished or chemically treated.

The wood may be fresh or partially seasoned and will continue to dry naturally. Keep it in a dry, well-ventilated environment and be aware that slight movement, shrinkage or checking can occur as natural wood seasons.

Please Note

You will receive two Hazel branches similar to those shown in the photographs. As these are genuine tree branches rather than machined dowels, exact colour, diameter, straightness, knots and bark markings will vary.

The hanging decorations, curtains and other display items shown in photographs are not included.

Our Hazel is harvested in small quantities through coppicing, pruning and thinning as part of the ongoing management of our family woodland.

No pesticides or insecticides are used on our land.

Hanging Wood has been managed by our family since 1976 on the North Downs in Surrey.
