🌼 15 Fresh Hazel Branches with Natural Yellow Catkins

Celebrate the first signs of spring with a bunch of fresh Hazel branches covered with naturally developing golden-yellow catkins, cut to order from our family-managed woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.

Hazel catkins are one of the earliest signs of the changing season in our woods. Their long, delicate yellow forms contrast beautifully with the natural brown and silver-toned Hazel bark, making these branches particularly attractive for spring floristry and tall vase displays.

🌿 You Will Receive

  • 15 x fresh Hazel branches
  • Up to approx. 70cm long
  • Natural yellow Hazel catkins
  • Freshly cut to order
  • Natural bark retained
  • Untreated woodland-grown stems
  • Grown and cut in Surrey

The stems are supplied in varying lengths up to approximately 70cm to create a naturally shaped bunch.

🌼 Natural Spring Catkins

Hazel produces its distinctive yellow catkins in late winter and early spring.

The catkins begin relatively short and compact before lengthening and becoming more golden as they mature. Eventually they release their pollen before fading and falling naturally from the branch.

Because these stems are harvested from living woodland trees, their precise appearance will depend on the weather and the point in the season when your order is placed.

You may receive stems with a mixture of:

  • Plump developing catkins
  • Short golden-yellow catkins
  • Long mature catkins
  • Developing leaf buds
  • Natural bark buds and markings

This variation is part of the beauty of genuine seasonal woodland material.

💐 Perfect for Natural Floristry

Hazel catkin branches make beautiful structural stems for:

  • Tall vase arrangements
  • Spring floristry
  • Wedding and event styling
  • Easter displays
  • Table arrangements
  • Shop and window displays
  • Botanical displays
  • Rustic interiors
  • Seasonal photography
  • Natural home decor

They look particularly effective displayed simply on their own in a tall vase, allowing the shape of the branches and hanging catkins to become the feature.

💧 Fresh or Dried Display

For a fresh spring display, place the branches in a vase with water when they arrive.

The catkins should continue their natural development for a period indoors before releasing pollen and eventually dropping.

Once the catkins have finished, the branches don't need to be discarded.

Remove them from the water and allow the Hazel stems to dry and season naturally. The dried branches can then be kept for many months and reused for dried arrangements, crafts and seasonal displays.

🌿 Naturally Individual

Every branch grew naturally in our woodland, so your bunch will not be completely uniform.

Expect variation in:

  • Branch length and shape
  • Number of catkins
  • Catkin size and maturity
  • Bark colour
  • Knots and markings
  • Side shoots and buds

These natural differences give the bunch its genuine woodland character.

📦 Cut Fresh to Order

The branches are freshly cut for your order rather than stored for long periods after harvesting.

Please therefore allow a little additional preparation time before dispatch.

Catkins are naturally seasonal, so availability and appearance are determined by the trees and weather conditions each year.

⚠️ Please Note – Pollen

Mature Hazel catkins naturally release pollen as part of their flowering cycle.

If displayed indoors, some pollen may fall onto surfaces beneath the arrangement. This is completely natural but is worth considering when choosing where to position your vase.
