Create a dramatic rustic feature above a dining table, kitchen island or centrepiece display with a substantial natural tree branch grown and cut in our own woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.

At approximately 120cm long and 5–8cm thick, this is a large, characterful piece of real woodland timber that can be suspended from the ceiling and decorated with your own pendant lights, fairy lights, foliage, flowers or seasonal decorations.

PLEASE NOTE: You are purchasing the natural branch and jute rope only. Lights, electrical fittings, chains and ceiling fixings are NOT included.

🌳 Hazel or Sycamore

Your branch will be either Hazel or Sycamore, depending on the timber available through our current woodland management and coppicing cycle.

Hazel generally has attractive lighter brown bark with natural markings, while Sycamore tends towards a richer mid-brown.

We select substantial branches with plenty of natural bark character, knots, bends and woodland texture.

🪵 Real Woodland Timber

This is not a manufactured pole made to look like a branch.

It is a real tree branch, grown outdoors in our woodland and retaining the natural features created as the tree grew.

Every piece will therefore vary in:

• Shape
• Straightness
• Diameter
• Bark colour
• Knots
• Natural markings
• Texture

You will receive a branch similar in general size and character to the photographs, but no two pieces will ever be identical.

⚠️ Installation & Safety

This is a heavy natural branch weighing approximately 3–4kg before any decorations or lighting are added.

It must be attached to ceiling fixings capable of safely supporting the branch plus the complete weight of everything subsequently attached to it.

We supply approximately 4m of natural jute rope, but you may prefer to use your own suitable rope, chain or suspension system depending on the installation.

Ceiling fixings are not supplied.

If electrical lighting is being incorporated, suitable components should be used and electrical installation should be undertaken by a competent person where required.

🌳 From Our Surrey Woodland

The branch is grown and cut from our family-managed woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.

We cut our timber in small quantities as part of our ongoing woodland management and coppicing cycle. No pesticides or insecticides are used on our land.

Hanging Wood has been managed by our family since 1976.
