These stinging nettle roots will be dug up to order from our Woodlands in Surrey.
Our woodlands are completely organic and we do not use pesticides or insecticides. The Nettles collected as part of our woodland management plan so no damage to the woodlands is caused.
The 10 roots are sent out as roots only with the stems cut down. The stems will regrow once planted.
Uses: The leaves contain many nutrients (minerals, fatty acids, amino acids) and act as antioxidants. They are also said to many healing qualities. The Stinging nettle is very versatile. It can be cooked in stews and soups, brewed as an herbal tea, applied as an ointment and taken as a supplement.
Care: The Nettle roots will be sent in packaging that will assist keeping the roots moist. Take the roots out of their packaging as soon as they arrive so they can breathe. Soak them in water and plant out in the desired location. They will not take long to restablish themselves and can be grown anywhere. The plants will die back in Autumn but are really hardy so will grow back again in spring.
Note: The stems sting so we advise wearing gloves when handling the plants.
