🌿 10 x 90cm Natural Sycamore Branches

A bundle of 10 long, fairly straight Sycamore sticks, freshly cut from our sustainably managed woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.

Sycamore is a versatile wood for craft and decorative projects. These branches are selected for their relatively straight growth and attractive natural bark, which typically has a rich mid-brown colour with warm golden overtones.

🪵 Fresh Natural Sycamore Wood

These branches are supplied green, meaning they are freshly cut rather than kiln-dried or fully seasoned. Sycamore is a pale, workable wood beneath the bark and is suitable for many carving and craft projects.

The branches will gradually dry and season naturally. If you wish to season them before use, keep them in a dry, well-ventilated place and allow them to dry gradually. Some natural movement or minor checking may occur as green wood seasons.

The sticks have not been washed, varnished or chemically treated. Natural knots, buds, bark markings, slight bends and variations in colour are all normal.

Natural Branches, Not Manufactured Dowels

Although these sticks can be used for many projects where a natural wooden rod or dowel is required, they are real tree branches. They will not have the perfectly uniform diameter or absolute straightness of a machined wooden dowel.

🌳 From Our Surrey Woodland

Our Sycamore is harvested in small quantities through pruning and thinning as part of the ongoing management of our woodland. No pesticides or insecticides are used on our land.

Hanging Wood has been managed by our family since 1976 on the North Downs in Surrey.
