🪵 10 x 40cm Mixed Species Green Wood Blanks – Individually Labelled
A mixed collection of 10 natural branch blanks cut from our sustainably managed woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.
Each set contains at least five different tree species, with every stick individually labelled. This makes the collection ideal for experimenting with different woods and discovering how each species varies in bark, colour, grain, weight, hardness and working characteristics.
At approximately 20–30mm diameter, these are substantial natural sticks suitable for a wide variety of green woodworking, carving and craft projects.

Ideal For
🎵 Experiment with Different Woods
One of the interesting things about a mixed-species set is being able to compare the properties of different woods.
For musical and percussion projects, different species can vary in weight, hardness, feel and sound. For carving and whittling, you can explore differences in grain, bark and how easily each species works.
Because every branch is labelled, you'll know which species you are experimenting with rather than simply receiving an unidentified bundle of sticks.
Fresh Green Wood
Our wood is supplied green or fairly green rather than kiln-dried. Fresh wood is often particularly enjoyable to carve and whittle while it still contains natural moisture.
The branches will continue to season after purchase. If you want dry wood for your finished project, allow the sticks to season gradually in a dry, well-ventilated place. Some movement, shrinkage or checking can naturally occur as green wood dries.
The sticks have not been washed, varnished or chemically treated. Natural knots, bends, bark markings and variations in diameter are part of their character.
Please Note
You will receive a mixed selection similar to that shown in the photographs. The exact combination of species depends on seasonal availability and individual branches will naturally vary in colour, shape and thickness.
