🌳 10 Natural Crooked Beech Ogham Staves & Craft Sticks

A bundle of 10 characterful crooked Beech branches, freshly cut from our family-managed woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.

Unlike straight, uniform craft dowels, these natural Beech sticks are deliberately selected for their bends, knots, bark texture and individual shapes. Beech has beautiful silver-brown to grey-brown bark with subtle natural markings, making every piece different.

They are particularly suited to Ogham staves, wand making, pagan and druidic crafts, handfasting decorations and rustic woodland projects where the natural character of the wood is part of the finished piece.

If your project requires perfectly straight and identical pieces, these aren't the right sticks. Their appeal is that each branch looks as though it came from a tree — because it did.

🌱 Fresh Green Wood

The branches are supplied freshly cut rather than kiln dried.

They will gradually lose moisture and season naturally after cutting. As green wood dries, some changes in colour, weight, bark and shape can naturally occur.

🌳 From Our Surrey Woodland

Our Beech branches are grown and harvested from our family-managed woodland on the North Downs in Surrey.

Branches are selectively cut as part of our ongoing woodland management rather than sourced as imported craft timber. We do not use pesticides or insecticides in our woodland.

Hanging Wood has been managed by our family since 1976.
